# Quote

```gistui
root = Quote("Simple things should be simple, complex things should be possible.", "Alan Kay")
```

## Signature

This is the line a model reads in the system prompt.

```gistui
Quote(text, by?)
```

- **Group:** Content
- **Children:** No
- **Positional arguments:** `text`, `by?` (a trailing `?` means it may be left out)

## Props

| Prop | Type | How to write it | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| `text` | string | positional, required |  |
| `by` | string | positional, optional |  |

## Use your own component

Keep the name and schema, swap what is drawn. The prompt and the model's output do not change.

### React

```tsx
import { ui } from "@gistui/react/ui";
const lib = ui.extend({ Quote: MyQuote });
<GistUI library={lib} stream={response.body} />;
```

```
<GistUI source={answer} components={{ Quote: MyQuote }} />
```

<GistUI source={answer()} components={{ Quote: MyQuote }} />
```
const lib = ui.extend({ Quote: (ctx) => ({ el: myElement(ctx) }) });
